慈航讲堂于农历十一月十七日 (05/01/26) 佛诞日进行诵经与燃灯仪式。

阿弥陀佛诞日

​

阿弥陀佛圣诞，又称弥陀诞，是佛教传统节日之一，庆祝阿弥陀佛的诞生。这个节日通常在农历十一月十七日庆祝。据大乘经典记载，阿弥陀佛远古时期立下了宏愿，创设了西方净土，广度无边众生，创造了无量的庄严功德，因而在大乘佛教中受到广泛崇敬和传播。

值此殊胜节日, 佛弟子都念佛、诵经、燃灯、广行善事, 积功累德, 诚心唸诵弥陀圣号。并以此回向尽虚空，遍法界一切众生，祈愿众生早日破迷开悟, 福慧双修, 离苦得乐! 同时祈愿国泰民安、世界和平、正法久住!

灯代表光明和智慧！有了智慧就能够破除愚痴的黑暗，逢凶化吉、遇难呈祥；一年都会吉祥平安、万事如意。

Ci Hang Jiang Tang will hold a chanting and light offering ceremony on 17th day of eleventh month in lunar calendar, which corresponds to 05/01/2026.

The Birthday of Amitabha Buddha is one of the traditional Buddhist festivals, typically observed on the 17th day of the eleventh month in the lunar calendar. According to Mahayana scriptures, Amitabha Buddha, in ancient times, made a profound vow to establish the Pure Land, liberate countless sentient beings, and achieved immeasurable and magnificent merits. As a result, Amitabha Buddha is widely venerated in Mahayana Buddhism.

On this auspicious occasion, Buddhist disciples recite scriptures, chant mantras, light offerings, engage in virtuous deeds, and recite the name of Amitabha to accumulate merits and virtues, which are then transferred to all sentient beings. May they swiftly awaken from delusion, cultivate both merit and wisdom, and be liberated from all sufferings to attain happiness. At the same time, prayers are offered for national prosperity, world peace, and the enduring presence of the Dharma. 

Lights symbolize brightness and wisdom. With wisdom, one can dispel the darkness of ignorance, eliminate uncertainties and wish for blissful life.
