2025 卫塞节庆典
Wesak Celebration

5月的月圆日是卫塞节，今年这日子落在5月12日 (星期一)。这是佛教徒纪念佛陀诞生、成道和涅槃的节日。
这一天佛教徒会进行沐佛，愿祛除垢秽，清净身口意，忆念佛恩。同时也会在佛前点灯，象征着光明智慧，破除黑暗无明，祈阖家安康，吉祥和乐。
This year, Wesak day falls on the full-moon day of the fourth lunar month. This day is marked to commemorate in honoring Buddha’s birth, attainment of enlightenment and achievement of nirvana.
Bathing Buddha is one of the many rituals to carry out on this day. This ritual symbolises purification and cleansing of our actions, speeches, minds and souls and remembering Buddha’s compassion.
The other ritual; lighting candles; is often performed to seek Buddha’s blessings for wisdom, eliminating of uncertainties and praying for blissful life.
